Summary:
Perform required weld inspections, develop appropriate weld documentation and train and maintain qualified welders to appropriate standards for quality assurance.
Job
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret specifications / procedures Participate in design and process reviews Develop and maintain PQR, WPS, PPS for all welding processes.
Aid in selection of welding personnel and equipment Develop and administer initial training and ongoing education of welding personnel Qualify welders to appropriate standards Monitor welding equipment PM Conduct Technical Weld LPA (Process and Operator Technique Audits) Perform inspections of welding processes and products Conduct audits of suppliers providing materials and services to the project and ensure that the work performed and the records maintained conform to the requirements of the applicable standards and other contract documents Monitor Ultrasonic Inspection process and develop and administer UT training Support and monitor robotic equipment (Hardware and software).
Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications (Required) At least 18 years of age (required at all locations) High School diploma or GED (required at all locations) Trained in UT, Robot programming.
Robot mechanical and electrical basic knowledge.
Certifications:
Current Certified Weld Inspection or Certified Weld Educator certificate Skills:
Understand the fundamentals of SMAW, SAW, OFW, RW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, PAW, SW, ESW and Thermal Spraying, Robotic Welding, Manual and Semi Manual Welding, Soldering, Mechanical Cutting, Thermal Cutting/ Gouging, Brazing/ Braze Welding, welding metallurgy, welding symbols and drawings and the ability to interpret drawings.
Understand the fundamentals of VT, MT, AET, UT, PT, ET, RT, LT, quality procedures and quality audits/ surveillance Job Qualifications (Preferred):
Previous manufacturing experience preferred (all locations) Physical Requirements of the Job:
Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices) Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends Job Type:
