Summary:
Brake operator sets up and operates power brake to bend, form, and straighten sheet metal and structures shapes to blueprint specification.
Job
Responsibilities:
Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends metal Use part prints and shop math to figure important measurements for the parts being made Use radius gauges to inspect parts when needed Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications (Required) At least 18 years of age (required at all locations) High School diploma or GED (required at all locations) Job Qualifications (Preferred):
Previous manufacturing experience Ability to use measuring and gauging tools such as micrometer, caliper, and radius gauges Math and blueprint reading skills sufficient to setup production presses Physical Requirements of the Job:
Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices) Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends Job Type:
