Intern: People Development (Spring 2018)

Purpose and Contents of the Role
The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through interaction with Human Resources professionals. Interns participate in professional activities for Volvo New River Valley Plant by working on practical, innovative and important projects. This Internship provides structured learning experiences where interns and our Human Resource professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo New River Valley Plant.
Responsibilities / Main tasks / Targets
The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources department staff with a wide range of projects related to but not limited to recruitment, compliance, onboarding, orientation, benefits, HR administrative tasks and more. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical.
Essential Skills and Required Experience
For initial consideration, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Education Requirements
Applicants must be pursuing a related degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
