Continuous Improvement Leader

As part of a team dedicated to developing and implementing Lean concepts, the Continuous Improvement Leader will be tasked with applying the theoretical part of the Lean implementation journey and provide practical support facilitating focused and continuous improvement activities. This professional will support the CIS classroom, Shop floor Management and Management System development, along with providing the right education through the Lean journey.
This position will work with all levels inside the Plant from the Leaders down to the operator on the shop floor. They will also work with the Volvo Production system (VPS) networks. They will have the ability to influence the Lean journey at the local and regional level.
International Travel is required.
Core Responsibilities
Contribute with the 10 Focus Areas Plant wide implementation through the Core Teams development
Support the implementation of the Continuous Improvement System and Lean culture at NRV Plant
Knowledge transfer and understanding of the Lean tools / principles to all organizations in the Plant
Create and provide training programs of Lean tools
Training and coaching Leaders and employees in Lean concepts and CIS tools
Recommend the New River Valley Plant readiness for lean audits
Perform Production System self-assessments
Facilitate the Employee Idea Program, the Management System and Shop floor Management at the NRV Plant
Active contributor to the Continuous Improvement development within the Continuous Improvement networks

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or equivalent education
Minimum Years of Experience Required
Five (5) Years' Experience in a manufacturing environment with educational requirements; preferably in automotive or trucking or equivalent education and experience
Ten (10) Years' Experience in a manufacturing environment without educational requirements; preferably in automotive or trucking or equivalent education and experience
Other Requirements
Education in supply chain, logistics, lean, engineering, maintenance, project management or equivalent
emonstrated experience and success in application of Continuous Improvement philosophies, tools and techniques
Demonstrated success in leading problem solving projects and initiatives, ability to manage multiple priorities, a bias for action
Demonstrated ability to teach Continuous Improvement Concepts, Problem Solving Techniques and Project Management
Solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
