Human Resources Business Partner- HRBP1

Summary
Coordinates and administers a variety of programs and activities covering multiple HR activities. With limited supervision of HR Management or Senior HR professionals may coordinate and/or administer various aspects of the organization's compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs. The Generalist will operate in and be responsible for more than one of these areas and perform many of the same activities as professionals that specialize in these individual HR functions. Typically requires three to five years of experience. Frequently reports to a Human Resources Manager.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities

  • Coordinates and administers a variety of programs and activities covering multiple HR activities

  • May develop, manage and/or administer the organization's compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs

  • Administer various aspects of the organization's compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs

  • The Generalist will operate in and be responsible for more than one of these areas and perform many of the same activities as professionals that specialize in these individual HR functions

  • Identifies and participates in human resource policy and program development in partnership with senior consultants and other human resource staff

  • Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws

  • Collect and analyst HR data, prepare reports, summarize data and trends and make recommendation for changes

  • Assist Plant Manager and department heads in maintaining day-to-day union management relationships to improve morale and assist management in carrying out leadership responsibilities

  • Respond to unemployment claims, union grievances, and any federal and state agencies dealing with employee matters

  • Prepare for and assist in labor arbitrations and labor negotiations

  • Active member of larger HR Team to support overall business initiatives


Qualifications, Educational Skills and Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years of related experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Coordinator, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. The following skills and traits are required:

  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization

  • Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation

  • Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment

  • Resourcefulness

  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines

  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and HRIS system.) Experience with desktop publishing software (Illustrator, Page Maker, Photoshop) is a plus

  • Enough knowledge of wage-and-hour laws and regulations to efficiently process semi-monthly payroll and accruals

  • Basic knowledge of (flexible spending accounts) and 401(k) profit-sharing plans, including maintenance, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
